A graduate of NIDA in 1971, Kris McQuade is one of Australia’s most recognisable and respected character actors. On stage she has worked with Australia’s leading theatre companies including La Mama, the Nimrod, and throughout the nineties with the Sydney Theatre Company.

Her television credits stretch from Homicide, Division 4, Bluey to The Sullivans, A Country Practice and Wildside. Her film career began in 1973 with Alvin Purple and is marked by four AFI Award nominations, including her award for Best Supporting Actress in 1983 for Fighting Back. Other film credits include Strictly Ballroom, Broken Highway and most recently Better Than Sex.
